Lock Smock Check this out! It is a simple yet effective way for a teacher to keep the door locked everyday, all day so that they can secure the door from the inside during an emergency intruder situation. The Lock Smock fits over the door latch and keeps it from engaging. It is secured to the door utilizing an elastic loop over each door handle on the inside and outside of the door. The teacher can release the loop from the inside open the door enough to push it out of the way to engage the lock and pull it closed again without ever going out into the hall! Genius! I made my own and several for other teachers in my building, but you can order them on the above link. It would make a fabulous gift for a teacher as well to help keep your kiddo safe.
