We have a crazy bunch of kiddos. They love music and we have usually have it going all day. Most of the time we use instrumentals. Pandora is awesome. We have a station that we use that plays instrumentals from sound tracks like Star Wars, Superman, Forrest Gump, etc. The kids love it. We also had a vocabulary word this last week pop up in phonics reader. The word was boogie. The kids wanted to know what it meant. We tried to explain it...blank stares. So youtube produced a solution. We showed a quick video from an ancient Solid Gold episode of the Sylvers doing Boogie Fever. They just about died laughing. I was not sure whether or not to be insulted. So then one of the kiddos says "Ms. T can we have a Boogie Friday?". I agreed to let them have Boogie Friday. As long as our behavior is good we will play boogie music (disco) on Friday. Today, well from recess on, we did. I had my formal observation for teacher evaluation today, didn't think that would be a good idea. We had a couple guys who were total hams and loved to Boogie. They especially like to Boogie with Ms. J. We showed them the John Trovolta move..that was a favorite. You really never know what will be happening in our crazy little corner of the world. Love every minute of it.
Come and see what is going on in my classroom. I plan to post ideas and projects and share things that others may find useful. You may also find the occasional warm fuzzy or soapbox episode. I am currently teaching a special education resource classroom for K-6. Enjoy your trip into my little corner of the world here.

Things Are Looking Up....
I am finding my attitude towards the day has a huge impact on not only me but my students and coworkers. It has been a much better beginning to the year. I have a new Partner teacher, we shall call her Ms. J. Ms J is simply awesome! Not quite like cloning myself but darn close. Better because where I Am weak she is strong. It is a great compliment of skills that we have going on. I am so much happier not to have to shoulder the whole thing myself. My students are happier. We are making progress and doing some phenominal things. There is constant communication, monitoring and adjustment going on. It has been an amazing experience. She is equal to some of my previous teaching partners and hopefully stick around for a very long time. We are doing amazing. Will start updating this more often. Got out of the habit of checking in here.
